Before the wash:
1) Part hair in 4+ sections (the thicker the hair the more sections you may need)
2) Comb out (detangle) the sections. This will make the detangle after the wash much easier
Now you can shampoo, co-wash, or deep condition.
Shampoo: There's regular shampoo, sulfate free shampoo and of course natural shampoo. The best shampoo to use is natural or sulfate free because it will not dry your hair out causing it to be brittle and break easy. I personally use regular shampoo because I like the lather. I only put the shampoo on my scalp. I do NOT put shampoo on my ends, I just let the shampoo rinse down as I'm washing.
*I wash with shampoo as needed but no more than once a month if I have to wash between those washes I just co-wash.
Co-wash: Is washing your hair with conditioner only NO shampoo
*After every wash whether it's with shampoo or conditioner I always deep condition.
There are deep condition packs that you can buy. I have my own combination of products that I use. I put it on my roots all the way down to my ends. Then you put a shower cap on for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours then rinse it out. There are some people that deep condition before shampooing so you can try both ways and decide which is best for you.
Moisture!!
To keep moisture to your hair after shampooing you will need to put in a leave-in conditioner followed by your favorite oil. I use herbal oil or olive oil to seal in the moisture then add a moisturizing cream.
After the wash I blow dry my hair using a wide tooth comb because I personally prefer my hair straight, not curly. It's easier for me to style my hair when it's straight. If you do not like using heat there's this method called banding that also gets your hair straight. If you not sure how to do it you can look it up on Google.
Next post will be the products I use for my deep conditioner.
Thanks Beauties,
Alicia

Why I'm Blogging?
Hello people,
My name is Alicia. I've decided to start blogging to help my beautiful women grow natural long hair. I am currently transitioning and been transitioning for about 9 months now. I will provide you all with the products I use and my hair regimen. I will eventually start a YouTube channel specifically on my transitioning hair and provide hair tips that work for me. Remember everyone is different, what works for me may not work for you.
I will try to have a new post once a week!
Thanks Beauties,
Alicia
